The Aeolus Outreach Programme seeks to inspire curiosity and wonder about sound and acoustic science, inspiring further interest in the diverse discipline through the exploration of an otherworldly work of art. Outreach workshops will use experimentation and hands on activities to demonstrate the acoustic science behind the sculpture, the role of sound in shaping experiences of everyday environments, and the interdependent relationship of science and art.

As Jerram’s artwork Aeolus tours the UK in 2011, Aeolus Outreach will deliver workshops, organise talks, seminars and CPD events. We’ll also maintain a blog featuring interviews, videos and articles about sound, acoustics, sound art and current research being done at Southampton and Salford Universities.
